    Satisfaction from Helping Others

As paramedics typically respond to emergency situations, their ability to quickly assess a medical condition and provide the appropriate medical care can make the difference between life and death. While this can be highly stressful for paramedics, they can also gain a high level of satisfaction from knowing that they play an important role in society. As a result, this is an extremely rewarding career for those who enjoy helping others.

    Part of a Team

A career as a paramedic can appeal to those who wish to function as part of a team as opposed to working on their own. Paramedics usually work in pairs and rely on teamwork with their partner to perform effectively. They must communicate well with Doctors while at the scene of an emergency and when transporting the patient to a medical facility to apprise them of the condition and receive treatment guidance. Paramedics also work in conjunction with firefighters and law enforcement officers.

    You’ll Have Friends for Life

The Ambulance Service and Emergency Response sector is like one big family who are always there for each other. As a Paramedic, you will experience some life changing moments with your colleagues. The bond you share will create friendships, mutual respect, support and camaraderie that you won’t find anywhere else. You will forever be part of a life-changing team, with friendships that will last a lifetime.

    You Never Stop Learning

Paramedics are passionate about ensuring their skills are up to date at all times. As the industry evolves, you will be presented with new opportunities to further develop your skills. This means that the door to new career pathways will always be open.

    Strong Growth Potential

The paramedic career is one that is expected to experience rapid growth, which should result in numerous job opportunities. The number of paramedic positions is expected to increase by about 33 percent between 2010 and 2020.
